Elyne He, CPA,CA
Founder
Elyne came to Canada as an international student and graduated from Brock University with first class honours degree in Bachelor of Accounting. She obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2011 and had several years of experience with Deloitte & Touché LLP.
Elyne now has over 20 years of accounting and tax experience. She focuses on working with new immigrants and emigrants to solve complex tax issues relating to foreign property, foreign affiliates, and foreign trust reporting. Her ultimate goal is to minimize clients’ tax cost associated with transferring foreign properties to Canada. Elyne also helps foreign investors, foreign businesses, and foreign trusts with cross border tax planning strategies, especially for non-Canadian clients from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.
Elyne is highly involved with the Canadian/Chinese business community and she enjoys teaching at several Chinese Institutes and Universities on International tax.
Michael Fromstein CPA, CA, TEP, MSc, MBA
Michael has over 40 years of experience assisting companies and their shareholders with corporate and personal matters including corporate reorganizations, international tax planning, and estate planning. Michael has previous experience as a tax partner for a national firm, Grant Thornton, as well as several non-national accounting firms. In addition to a focus on owner-manager tax issues and estate planning, Michael has a focus on working with businesses with non-Canadian customers to design and implement cross-border tax strategies to reduce the non-Canadian tax burden on foreign profits. Michael assists in creating tax-effective financing arrangements for start-ups and developers of intellectual property, Michael also provides tax effective dealing with intellectual property issues, especially with a cross-border focus.
Michael has completed the CICA’s In-Depth Tax Course and In-Residences courses. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO), and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) and an OICA instructor on a variety of income tax courses, and a tutor at the CICA tax practitioner’s in-residence course.
Having obtained a CPA and MBA in 1981, Michael has been providing income tax advice since 1982 and taught courses for the CICA and OICA from 2006 until in-person courses ceased for covid. Michael now restricts his practice to assisting clients in cross-border structures and assisting in estate tax issues.
